Ready to take your adventure to new heights? This thrilling trip takes you deep into Yunnan’s highlands, where you’ll trek through dramatic landscapes, charming local villages, and finally ascend the snow-capped Haba Snow Mountain.
Start your journey in Lijiang and explore the stunning Tiger Leaping Gorge, then head off the beaten path toward Haba Village, where the real adventure begins. With the help of professional guides and mountaineering equipment, you’ll trek to Base Camp and push onward to the summit for jaw-dropping panoramic views you’ll never forget.
No previous mountain climbing experience? No problem. This tour is designed for outdoor enthusiasts with a basic level of fitness. We also offer pre-trip training hikes and briefings to help you prepare.
Please note that this trip is not suitable for children and requires some physical preparation at least one month in advance.

Meet up at our hostel in Lijiang
Spend the day chilling out and adjusting to the altitude

Breakfast
Hop on the bus and head over to Tiger Leaping Gorge passing through the awesome scenery of the area: Lashi Lake, Yangtze River, Jinsha River, Shangri-la area, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Begin the first part of our trek, hiking from Tiger Leaping Gorge up to Haba village
Enjoy a local dinner in the homestay where we stay for the night
Mountain climbing lesson

Breakfast
Pack up and load our things onto the horses – time to head up to Base Camp!
Begin our awesome trek [15 km, approx 7h]
Arrive at base camp and settle for the night (chill out before the big day ahead!)

02:00 – Early start – Get snow mountain hiking equipment ready for the the most difficult , but awesome, part of the trek – Breakfast
03:00 – Hike up through spectacular scenery – glaciers, snow capped mountains, awesome rock formations, beautiful nature, guided by an experienced team mountaineer
09:00 – Reach the snow line and gear up (ice climbing spikes/ snow goggles) for the last bit of the trek to the top!
12:00 – Arrive at the summit and start our descent back to Base Camp

*Note: If weather is unsuitable for trekking to ‘the roof”, we will wait an extra day at base camp to make the trek.
Early breakfast
Trek back to Haba Village
Visit the White Water Terrace for some beautiful scenery in the afternoon
Return back to the homestay for a celebration – We made it!!!
